Clinical Project Manager in Goleta, CA

We are currently seeking candidates for a full time position in Goleta, CA. Lead Project Management of medical device projects under general direction, including organization, planning, execution, control and evaluation of project plans. Supports clinical development and clinical operations teams on project execution, financial planning and reporting, and process improvement. Determines and recommends courses of action necessary to meet the goals and objectives of the project teams and of the department. Supports business area in R&D portfolio selection and management. Responsible for achievement of milestones, including those deemed critical from a corporate perspective (e. g. product approvals). Facilitates positive team interactions, communication, and project reporting with cross-functional (matrix) R&D Teams. Supports teams in maximizing return on R&D investment and minimizing development time of assigned projects, while maintaining compliance to global quality, regulatory and clinical standards. Facilitates financial planning and reporting of cross-functional projects. Responsible for other duties as assigned. * Master's degree with 6 years medical device or pharmaceutical industry experience; minimum two years direct project management experience, or Bachelor's degree with 5 to 7 years medical device/pharmaceutical industry experience. * Thorough understanding of Good Clinical Practices, ICH guidelines and FDA Code of Federal Regulations. * Extensive experience in medical device and/or pharmaceutical clinical trial execution. * Familiar with the overall medical device development and/or pharmaceutical product development process, and the interdependencies of individual development activities. * Thorough understanding of budgeting and financial forecasting for a clinical project (i.e. site & vendor budgets, IRB costs, clinical supply, etc.). Working knowledge of P&L implications for R&D expenditures. Proven ability to manage projects in a timely, cost effective manner. * Experience in a global (multi-national) technical or business environment. * Experience in leading and influencing multi-disciplinary teams in a matrix environment. * Excellent analytical and communication skills, both verbal and written, suitable for presentations at all levels and backgrounds. * Strong leadership, mentoring and motivational skills, and the ability to build effective cross-functional relationships, utilizing diplomacy and persuasion. * Ability to problem solve independently and with others. Expertise in guiding teams through analysis and decision making process. * Ability to organize workload in accordance with project priorities and timelines with focus on execution. * Advanced computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, project management software). * Willing and able to travel.
