Sr Manufacturing Engineer - Instrumentation/opto-electromechanical in Goleta, CA

My new client is a 20-year old local operation with $300M+ revenue that develops instruments enabling scientists and engineers to perform precise, 3D measurements down to the angstrom-to-micrometer scale. Support the entire lifecycle from new product introduction/conceptual phase, to proof of manufacturing and volume manufacturing. Define and implement product requirements related to Design for Manufacturing/ Test/Reliability/Service. This is a fast-paced environment involving PCB manufacturing. Processes resulting in cost cutting/gross margin improvements are identified and executed. Lead strategic planning for test, manufacturing and sourcing strategies. Resolve sustaining engineering issues from production floor, global vendors and field service. To qualify, you should possess a BS in engineering related field and 7+ years related (industry-paid) experience, or, an MS in engineering field and 5+ years of related (industry-paid) experience. Should have very strong proficiency and experience with DFM and some 3D CAD proficiency (SolidEdge, SolidWorks, etc.). Prefer experience with opto-mechanical, or, opto-electro-mechanical product manufacturing. Experience with precision instruments/measuring devices is desirable.
